What is a Wave?
A group video built around one tiny prompt. Your people each record up to 5 seconds, and we bring their clips together into one finished video.
Does everyone need an account?
No. Contributors open the link, follow the prompt and record their clip. No app or account needed.
How long does recording take?
Record up to 5 seconds. Follow the chosen prompt; keep it short.
Can people record from anywhere?
Yes. They can join from their own phone wherever they are, with an internet connection.
Are the videos private?
You decide who receives the finished Wave. Collection links can be forwarded, and recipients may be able to save or share the finished video. Invite people you trust and agree how the Wave should be shared.
How will you protect our clips, especially children’s videos?
We use VideoAsk to collect clips and download them to make your Wave. Before recording, you confirm permission for the Wave and parent or guardian permission for children shown. The organiser and recipient can share the finished video. Read our full privacy notice for sharing, storage and removal information.
What if someone doesn’t submit?
You can give them a reminder before your deadline. The Wave uses the clips people send in; nobody needs to invent a speech.
